Check out the soda straws and the little rimstone pool! Calcite crystals are being deposited around the edge of the pool as the water loses CO2 to become less acidic.

Find a straw with a drop of water hanging on its end. Crystals are being deposited there, also.

The broken straws probably broke under their own weight, like my big uncle Billy Bob's leg.
