UPGRADE INSTRUCTIONS / NUMBER LIST

There are 3 basic steps to perform for this upgrade. You will only need to perform these steps once. Specific steps are shown below the access number list.

Step One-create a new dialer with the new dialup number. Choose the number from the list below that is a local (toll-free) call for you.

Step Two-in the new dialer, extend your dialup username to be 'username@northcoast.com' instead of just 'username'. Requiring the domain extension with your dialup connection allows us to provide more efficient service.

Step Three-disable DNS in the network control panel, and set the dialup networking properties to be "Server Assigned DNS" (the DNS config is correctly assigned when you dialup up to the new system, so they are not needed on the customer end at all).

The new numbers are listed here. Please be sure that the number you choose is a local, toll-free call for you. NORTHCOAST INTERNET DOES NOT ACCEPT RESPONSIBILITY FOR ANY PHONE CHARGES AND WILL NOT REIMBURSE OR ISSUE CREDIT TO CUSTOMERS WHO ACCESS OUR INTERNET SERVICES USING THE INCORRECT DIAL-UP NUMBER.

MACINTOSH USERS: Please call if you need assistance in interpreting these instructions for MAC. We are not ignoring you, it's just that there are too many MAC dialer types to list instructions for.
