We have a proxy server
for you to use. A proxy server stores copies of popular Internet web
sites and programs locally. This can speed up your access to frequently-visited
sites.
Netscape Navigator 3.0
- Choose Options at the
top of your screen, then select Network Preferences.
- Change to the Proxies
tab at the top of the window. Select Manual
proxy configuration, then click on the View...
button.
- Enter content.humboldt.perki.net
in the box for Host Name for both
HTTP and FTP. Enter 3128 in the Port
box for both HTTP and FTP.
- Click on the OK buttons
until you're back to the web browser.
Netscape Navigator and Communicator 4.0
- Click on the Edit menu
heading at the top of your screen, then select Preferences.
- Double click on Advanced,
then select Proxies. Select Manual
proxy configuration, then press View...
- Enter content.humboldt.perki.net
in the boxes next to HTTP and FTP. Enter 3128
in the Port box for both HTTP and
FTP.
- Click on OK, then OK
again to return to the browser.
Internet Explorer 3.0 and 4.0
- Select Options from
the View menu heading.
- Click on the Connection
tab.
- Click on the Connect through
proxy server option, then press the Proxy
settings... button.
- Enter content.humboldt.perki.net
under Host Name for both HTTP and
FTP. Enter 3128 under Port
for both.
- Leave everything else blank. Click on OK
to exit.
