We are the Church. We are all commissioned for ministry by virtue of our baptism. At St. Alban's we enthusiastically support Lay Ministry. In our Diocese there are thousands of committed lay persons of all ages who give of their time, talent, and treasure to carry on Christ's work of reconciliation in the world and to take our place in the life, worship and governance of the Church. Lay ministries are as multiple and varied as the individuals who comprise our Church. There are six licensed lay ministries as defined by the canons of the National Church. These six licenses do not begin to plumb the depths of lay ministry. As you will see in the following descriptions there are many opportunities for service. Some require a considerable amount of knowledge and training while others require very little. We minister to each other every day from our hearts, our hopes and our faith. We welcome you to join us.
