Respect Education Committee

Mission

We aim to struggle with and overcome the fractious nature of the clients movement. Rather than challenge or compete with existing organizations we intend to work within them productively. We seek to upgrade practices beyond identity politics and into a dynamic of relational advocacy. The objective of the Respect Education Committee is to introduce dialogue about social accountability into the clients movement.

Principles

  1. We stand for civility and against attack politics
  2. We support accountability to the values of the client culture
  3. We seek to overcome trauma of treatment and construct our habits authentically
  4. We advocate principled dialogue with the mental health system and the general public
